What is a bedside cot?
A bedside crib, also known as a bassinet or a co-sleeper is a baby cot that is attached to an adult bed. This allows your baby to sleep next to you in safety. It is a safe method of co-sleeping that doesn't increase the risk of SIDS, like bedsharing. It also helps you bond with the new baby.
These cots have an end that can be adjusted so that you can reach your baby easily in the nighttime to comfort them and feed them. This is particularly helpful for mothers recovering from the c-section. Many of them are portable or foldable, so you can take them on your travels and use them as a temporary sleep solution for infants who aren't yet ready to move to a full-sized cot.

If you're looking for a long-term alternative, some cribs are equipped with conversion kits that allow you to transform them into a cot, or a toddler bed when the time comes. This is a great option for extending their life span and making the transition smoother. Some even have a removable top section that can be converted into a bassinet, while others can be used on either the regular or high-rise adult bed. This is a great option for families who are planning on frequent travel or switching rooms at night. You should also consider how big your bedroom is to ensure you can fit the crib in comfortably. Many cribs come with a riser that can be used to create an incline to accommodate babies with reflux.
The Joie Roomie Glide
Known for their high-quality baby products, English brand Joie has entered the world of bedside cribs with the Roomie Glide. This crib was designed to allow parents to connect and sleep side by side with their babies without sharing a single bed. It is full of features that make bonding between parent and baby safe, easy and enjoyable.
One of the key features is a soft rocking motion that can be activated with the press of a button. The crib can be locked into its place after the rocking has been done to stop it moving and can also be secured to the bed's side using a strap and clip attachment. This makes it extremely solid and secure, allowing you to get a good night's sleep without having to worry about your little one rolling off into the middle of the room. The rounded cocoon shape comes with soft padded sides and double mesh windows at both ends to allow plenty of air flow whilst keeping your baby secure.
